It's a very quiet area, Plaka, within walking distance of cozy tavernas and local markets.
The village has lush vegetation and largely preserves the beautiful natural surroundings as it is located on the slope of Mount Drapanokefala where the vegetation is intense and varied. You can see even olives trees, undergrowth of shrubs and organically grown plants, which have not altered the character of the area. The village still retains its traditional character greatly.

Nearby villages like Almyrida and Armeni each have their own charm. Almyrida is known for its sandy beaches and seaside taverns, ideal for relaxation. Armeni, with its historical sites and traditional architecture, offers a taste of Crete's past.
