The village of Plakias is situated on the shore of the Libyan Sea. Plakias name is taken after the large number of stones, which are called “plakes” in Greek. Similar cemeteries have been found in other nearby areas.
Plakias was a small village in the late 19th century, which in recent decades has transformed to a popular resort. Especially, during the 60s beaches of Yialia, as the beachfront of the wider area is called, were a favorite destination for hippies. Now it’s a popular resort and a base for visiting the natural beauties of the region.

Plakias Village is situated between two canyons (Kotsifos and Kourtaliotis).The Kourtaliotis River flows through the Kourtaliotiko gorge, where it is characterized by dense vegetation and high pitched stone volumes on both sides. Kourtaliotiko gorge is really a masterpiece of nature and you definitely must to visit it.

Airport of Chania is 100km away.
Plakias Village is 30 km south of Rethimno small town.
Car is recommended to make your transfer easier.
Frangokastello and Sfakia is a pleasant twisting and scenic short drive. Above Plakias, Myrthios, affords gorgeous views of the bay, coastline and sea.

The guest can cancel free of charge until 30 days before arrival.
The guest will be charged a prepayment of 30% of the total price on the booking date.
The guest will be charged 30% of the total price if they cancel 30 days prior to arrival.
If the guest doesn’t show up it will be charged the total price of the reservation.
