The villa is ideally located close to Plakias, one of the most charming seaside villages of southern Crete. Plakias offers traditional tavernas, seaside cafés, small shops, and a relaxed atmosphere that reflects authentic Cretan hospitality. The south coast is famous for its crystal-clear waters, dramatic landscapes, and unspoiled beaches. Nearby, you’ll discover beautiful beaches such as Preveli Beach with its unique palm forest and river, Damnoni Beach known for its turquoise waters and water sports, and Souda Beach, a peaceful bay ideal for swimming and relaxing away from crowds.

Perched above the village of Mariou on Crete’s stunning south coast, Villa Skali is a serene and stylish hideaway where comfort meets natural beauty. Surrounded by open skies, sea views, and rolling hills, this newly built 3-bedroom villa is perfect for families or friends seeking a relaxed escape with a touch of sophistication.

Step into the bright open-plan living area, where a fully equipped kitchen, dining space, and comfortable lounge blend seamlessly with the outdoors. Large openings frame views of the Libyan Sea and fill the space with natural light. For added convenience, there is also a guest WC located in the living area.

Outside, the villa’s private infinity pool is the villa’s signature feature, ideal for refreshing swims, slow afternoons on sun loungers, or sunset relaxation. The pool features salt water, offering a softer and more natural swimming experience. A special highlight is the elevated in-water section of the pool, known as the “pool plaza”, where comfortable sunbeds are placed directly in the shallow water, and they are perfect for cooling off while sunbathing in total relaxation.

Just beside the pool, a pergola shelters a dining table for eight and gas BBQ facilities, perfect for al fresco meals and long Mediterranean evenings. Additionally, a built-in seating area, styled like a sofa, sits next to the pool, offering a cosy spot to lounge with drinks or read while enjoying the views.

Each bedroom features its own ensuite bathroom and air conditioning, ensuring comfort and privacy for all guests. Two of the bedrooms provide direct access to the pool terrace, creating an effortless indoor-outdoor flow.

The third bedroom is a fully independent suite, offering enhanced privacy for guests who appreciate their own space. Located in a separate part of the property with no internal access to the main villa, it is reached via a few steps just in front of the pool. This private suite features its own entrance and a secluded patio.

Please note that access to the villa entrance from the parking area involves a set of stairs.

The villa enjoys a picturesque location just on the outskirts of the serene village of Mariou, home to a charming traditional tavern named Mariou Restaurant, and a mini market.

For more dining options, you can visit the next village (2,5 km away), Myrthios, with its selection of traditional tavernas and a mini-market.

The coastal village of Plakias, famous for its expansive sandy beach, lies just 5 kilometers from the villa, while the nearest sandy beach is a short 4-kilometer drive. Plakias Village is the central hub of the area, which offers pretty much everything you may need (supermarkets, fish shops, grocery shops, pastry shops, pharmacies, hairdressing salons, souvenir shops, and more).

The area offers a wealth of natural and cultural attractions, including the Kourtaliotis and Kotsifou gorges, the historic Preveli Monastery, and pristine beaches such as Ammoudi, Schinaria, Damnoni, Souda, Plakias, and the enchanting Preveli beach with its iconic palm forest.

Lastly, within 40 minutes, you can reach Rethymno Town and explore its vibrant Old Town, enjoy peaceful walks across its ~10 km beach road, and visit the farmer's market, which is part of the locals' daily life.

All in all, the villa's ideal location allows you to discover the wonderful countryside and villages, the historic sites, and the lovely Rethymno Town. You will be immersed in vivid colours, smells, flavours, and centuries-old cultural traditions while being surrounded by gorgeous pebble or sandy beaches and enjoying the heartwarming Cretan sun.

A car is necessary for your transportation during your stay. There are parts of the road near the villa, about 100m long, that are not paved; they are rough and unsealed. We recommend a high-clearance vehicle (like an SUV-B or crossover).
